6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Spanish

¡Hola! Me llamo

Señorita Murphy

Class Info:  In Spanish 6, 7, and 8, grammar, vocabulary, and Spanish culture and traditions play a pivotal role. Throughout the year, students of all grades will learn grammar and vocabulary that will help them to better communicate with Spanish speakers, allowing them to create new and exciting friendships. Students will also study Hispanic cultures, helping them to broaden their knowledge of the world and its people. Students will be graded based off of four categories:

1. Tests/Quizzes- 30%

2. Projects/ Assignments- 30%

3. Participation/Classwork- 30%

4. Homework- 10%

Please note that homework counts very little. Most of my homework assignments will involve the student "studying" vocabulary words. I use the word "studying" lightly. It does not mean there will be a test next class, it simply means I would like for the students (and parents, if you want to learn as well!) to review new and old vocabulary as often as possible. This will obviously make the students' tests scores increase, but they will also become less likely to forget what they practice!

Homework, Tests, & Projects: Each Week, I will place homework, upcoming exams, and upcoming projects on the schedule. PowerPoints and activities conducted during the class will also be uploaded to the class page. Students will be aware well ahead time of upcoming exams and assignments to prepare for the material. Most projects will be conducted in the classroom, however I will sometimes give additional time for the student to finish at home if he/she so chooses. All students can retake any exam once during recess. One handed in, all project grades are final.

If anyone has anyone questions, please email me at mmurphy@stthomasschool.net! Thank you and I look forward to an excellent year!

6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Final Exams

The 6th and 7th grades with be taking a 2 part final exam this trimester. I have split the test into 2 parts simply for time reasons - I do not want anyone to be overwhelmed! Part 1 consists of multiple choice questions. Part 2 consists of "short answer" questions, meaning fill in the blanks or 1 sentence responses. The dates for this test have been posted on the calendar! This is an OPEN NOTEBOOK final exam. We will review for this test extensively and students will be allowed to use these review notes while taking the test.
8th grade will be taking a final exam as well. The test will be 1 day and will consist of
