Biography

Education: BS-Elementary Ed. St. John's University
                MA- Elementary Ed. Hofstra University

I have been teaching for many years and get up every morning loving what I do. My first teaching assignment was in the Merrick Public Schools. I taught second and third grade for 11 years and then left to raise my family. While my three children were young, I worked part-time at Cathedral Nursery School in Garden City. There, I taught Pre-K and initiated a Kindergarten Enrichment Program as an extension for children who attended 1/2 day kindergarten at their local schools.
Since joining the St. Thomas staff in 1997, I have been teaching first grade. I am very excited that I was nominated and received membership in "Who's Who of American Teachers" multiple times.
Last year, I was presented the Educator of the Year Award from the Association of Italian-American Teachers.
I have served as the faculty liaison to the St. Thomas School Board, a member of our social committee, and a member of the Middle States Steering Committee that was formed to renew accreditation for St. Thomas.
I want children to leave our classroom every day excited and wondering what they will be doing tomorrow. Above all, I want each student to feel that they can, and will, be successful in first grade.

Personal Message

For me, First Grade is the most rewarding of all grades. Everyday I have the pleasure of watching children discover the joy of learning to read and the feeling of great accomplishment!
