Hello Parents and Students,

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! My name is Mr. Barden and I am honored and excited to serve as new the World Language Teacher of St. Thomas the Apostle.

I grew up right around the corner from St. Thomas the Apostle in Garden City. I graduated from Garden City High School in 2011. Following High School, I went to Sacred Heart University, where I received a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish. During my time at Sacred Heart, I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Sevilla, Spain and San Jose, Costa Rica. I am completing my Master's at Molloy Colege, where I am earning a degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL).

My goal is to help strengthen my students' knowledge in the grammar, vocabulary, and the culture of the Spanish language and traditions. Through a positive and comfortable learning environment, I believe that every student is capable of reaching their full potential of learning the Spanish language.

I look forward to meeting and working with everyone throughout the academic year!
