News from the Sixth Grade

Tuesday 6/12: $1 Dress Down Day.  Money will go to The American Heart Association & North Shore Animal League

dnesday 6/6: Bronx Zoo Field Trip.  Students should wear gym uniforms and bring a bag lunch.

 Friday 5/25/18: Dress down day.  Wear Red, White & Blue!!!

On Tuesday, May 1st and Wednesday, May 2nd, the sixth grade students will be taking their New York State Math Tests.  The only preparation necessary is a restful night, a hearty breakfast, several #2 pencils and arrival to school on time.

Thursday 4/19: Noon Dismissal for 8th Grade Conformation.

Please send in your child's permission slip for the Bronx Zoo ASAP

Please return all signed Parent Teacher Conference forms.  Conferences are Thursday 3/22  5:30 pm - 8:30 pm.

School is closed Friday 3/23 for a Faculty Day

Cinderella Field Trip to SHA is Thursday 3/15.  Gym uniforms (sweatshirts and sweatpants) should be worn.  Warm jackets too!  Don't forget to bring your lunch.  Ice Cream will be sold for $1 when we return to STA.

Hall of Science Permission slips are due March 2nd.  Chaperones needed.

Important Dates & Information for the Week of 12/18/17
Monday 12/18: In School Upper School Dance 12-2:30.  Upper School Students may dress down.
Tuesday 12/19: School Mass (6th grade Mass) & Upper School Bagel Breakfast immediately following
Wednesday 12/20: There will be no AIS/Extra-help after school.
Thursday 12/21: Pajama Day.  NO SLIPPERS MAY BE WORN.  Afternoon movie day.  Towels and blankets are allowed to sit on during the movie.
Friday 12/22: Dress Down Day.  Wear green & red.  Half-day dismissal.

Friday 12/15 ($1 optional) dress down day to support The INN is Hempstead & The Meatloaf Kitchen on the Lower East Side

Report Cards will be sent home on Wednesday 12/6/17
Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday 12/7/17  2:00-4:00 & 5:00-8:30

Wednesday 11/22/17: Dress Down Day!

Thursday 11/16/17: Nutcracker Field Trip.  Students should wear their gym sweats (gym uniform) and bring a bagged lunch.  Warm outerwear is necessary for our walk.

Friday 11/3/17: Individual Picture Day.  Students may wear "dress-up" clothes for their photos.  Tuesday 11/7/17: Class photo day.  Students must be in proper uniform for the photo.

Halloween: Orange and Black Day!  Students may wear orange and black to school on Tuesday 10/31.

Attention 6th Grade: Please bring a SMALL hand held flashlight with you to school on Halloween.  Make sure to label yours with your name.

Friday 10/27: United Skates Field Trip.  Gym uniforms MUST be worn.  Lunch of pizza and a drink will be provided.  

Students are encouraged to wear ORANGE accessories for Unity Day on Wednesday 10/25 with their school uniforms. 

Winter Uniforms begin on Tuesday 10/10

Girls: Uniform grey skirt, white button-down collared shirt (short or long sleeve), navy v-neck pullover sweater vest with logo, shoes: dark color (laced, buckled, or loafer style shoes) and rubber-soled, socks: navy, blue knee socks (or navy blue tights in cold weather)

Boys: Uniform grey pants, navy tie with white stripes, White button-down collared shirt (short or long sleeve),
Navy pullover sweater or sweater vest with logo, Shoes: Dark color (laced or loafer style shoes), socks: navy blue

IOWAs begin on Tuesday 10/10

Chromebook Acceptable Use Policy and Chromebook Use and Behavior Policy forms have gone home with every sixth grader today.  Please read them with your child and sign.  Return to Ms. Camillery asap.  Thank you!

Dress Down Day will be Friday, 9/22 in support of the candy sale.  All students must wear shoes or sneakers.  No flip-flops or slippers will be permitted.

​Do not forget: If you are interested in running for Student Council, applications and speeches are to to Miss Camillery Wednesday 9/20.  Speeches will be given Friday 9/22.
